The Breckenridge ski resort has an extensive range of facilities and services spread across the many zones of Breckenridge: the town; the gondola; village at the base of Peak 9; Peak 9 at Beaver Run; and Peak 8. The facilities at Peak 7 are somewhat limited.

Breckenridge Ski Rentals & Snowboard Rental

For resort owned Breckenridge ski rentals, Breckenridge Sports has 7 locations. They also provide free delivery in case your lodging isn’t close to one of their shops, and overnight storage of skis, poles and snowboards. The rates for standard and performance gear are pretty high relative to most other Colorado ski resorts, and the queues to rent equipment can be very long.

Breckenridge also has a huge variety of other snowboard and ski rental shops to choose from. Breckenridge ski rental outlets can be found in town, near the BreckConnect gondola, and at Peaks 7, 8 and 9. The majority of these privately owned stores provide cheaper ski and snowboard rentals compared with Breckenridge Sports. Many of the shops also provide shuttle services (for you or your gear) to get between the shop and your lodging.

Or if you want the ultimate in ski rental convenience you can use the Ski Butlers service. You’ll pay a little more for the privilege, but this is great if you don’t want to leave your hotel room or condo.

Breckenridge Child Care

Breckenridge has good options for childcare across a few locations: peak 8 behind the gondola terminal (open year round); the village plaza near the Quicksilver chairlift; and next to the Beaver Run Resort.

The Breckenridge child care centers cater for children ages 2 months to 4 years. The programs are run for the full day (8:30am to 4pm) by qualified staff. Online reservations are recommended, and with a minimum of 48 hours notice you’ll get a small discount. The rates for the child care are pretty similar to those at other high profile Colorado ski resorts.

For kids aged 2-4 you can add on a one hour introductory ski experience to a full day reservation.

There is also a range of babysitting services available in the Breckenridge area.

Breckenridge Ski School

The Breckenridge ski and snowboard school has three locations: Beaver Run (up Peak 9); Village (base of Peak 9); and Peak 8 (base).

For adults, private lessons are held in a half day or full day format. They also run semi private lessons which are effectively group lessons with a maximum of 4 per class. Standard group lessons have an average of 7 students and are only held in a full day format.

In addition to standard ski and snowboard tuition, they also have specialised programs including park and pipe, women’s clinics, seniors, telemark and adaptive lessons.

For kids, Breckenridge has a range of ski lesson programs for ages 3 and up, whilst for snowboarders, lessons are from ages 5 and up.

Eating On Mountain

OMG! You may have to get your elbows sharpened if you want to buy your lunch on-mountain, because most of the lodges are absolutely packed, especially on weekends, and a lack of brown bagging spots adds to the mayhem of the cafeterias. Avoid Peak 8 for lunch if you can.

Most of the ski resort dining is within large self-service cafeterias that are a far cry from the charming eateries you find in Europe. Breckenridge is not the place to sit down for a glamorous vista-ridden lunch with white tablecloths and silver service, although for some the pricing of cafeteria food you might think you’re in a nice restaurant.

The Ten Mile Station at Peak 10 is a nice spot to get a bite to eat. It’s modern, relatively uncrowded, and they have healthy food choices as well as more stodgy fare.

Sevens is an OK restaurant at the base of Peak 7. It is a medium sized table service restaurant, although the word “service” may not apply. The food was fabulous, but the service was absolutely crappy.

Spa Services

There is no shortage of spa services in Breckenridge with over 20 establishments to choose from.
