Where is Torgnon Italy?

The ski lifts of Torgnon are positioned above the pretty village of Mongnod, further up the hillside from Torgnon village, and at the end of a road off the route to Cervinia in the Valle d’Aosta. Mongnod is 26km (45min) by road south of Breuil Cervinia and 16km (25min) north of Châtillon and the main Aosta Valley. By road, Aosta is 30km (45min) west and Turin 115km (1¾hr) to the south.

Gateway airports are Turin (TRN), Milan Malpensa (MXP) and perhaps Geneva (GVA). Private transfer from the airport can be the most cost effective & efficient mode of transport to the area, especially if in a group of 3 or more people. Search & book here for private transfers to Torgnon-Mongnod & the Aosta Valley.

Public train & bus transport is available but can take alot of time. It is possible via a combination of trains to the Chatillon St Vincent station & then connect to the route 551 bus heading direct to Torgnon-Mongnod. From Cervinia, take the 503 bus, then change at the stop 'Antey Bivio Lies' to get on the 551 bus as it comes up the hill.

Torgnon & its ski resort base village of Mongnod are most conveniently accessed on your steam with a rental car.

See our Travel to Cervinia page for more detailed information on how to get to Torgnon, just remember to turn left on the way up to Valtournenche & Cervinia!

Torgnon Accommodation

Torgnon is a charming mountain village with a variety of excellent accommodation options. In the heart of the town, there is a choice of highly-rated hotels, apartments & BnBs. Further up the hill, the hamlet of Mongnod has a small selection of lodgings right near the base of the ski resort’s gondola. The absolute standout though is located further up the mountain in a ski-in ski-out position. Hotel Caprice des Neiges has all the best aspects of a wonderful Italian alpine hotel. Assuming one has a car, any of the villages can be used as a base to ski Cervinia.
