Silvertip Heli-Skiing

Silvertip Heli-Skiing offers a very remote and exclusive wilderness heli ski experience, located in the majestic Cariboo Mountains in British Columbia. The lodge may be in a delightfully isolated spot, yet access is reasonably easy from Vancouver International Airport.

The Silvertip heli ski program offers unlimited vertical with a focus on the quality of the skiing or riding. The guides prioritize taking guests to terrain that is skiing the best, and guests will never be charged for additional helicopter time or vertical feet.

The lodge accommodates up to 16 skiers who ski in two groups of 8 out of a Bell 212 helicopter. The helicopter which normally seats 10 guests, has been reconfigured to 8 seats to offer a more comfortable ride.

Silvertip Heli-Skiing is a member of Helicat Canada and adheres to the association’s guidelines for operations and safety. All of the guides are professionally trained mountain and ski guides with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides and/or the Canadian Ski Guide Association.

Silvertip Heli-Skiing can host 8-16 skiers at a time (who come as a group). Silvertip Heli-Skiing specializes in private heli skiing, although solos and couples may be able to join a group for some dates - please make a booking request.

Silvertip Lodge

Silvertip Lodge radiates comfort and ambience amidst a wild and untamed setting. The atmosphere at Silvertip can be categorized as rustic luxury.

There are eight charming guest rooms, all fully furnished and each with a private ensuite bath.

See more information on the Silvertip Lodge.

Where is Silvertip Lodge?

Silvertip Lodge is in a beautiful location on the shores of Quesnel Lake in the Cariboo Mountains in British Columbia, Canada. It is northeast of Williams Lake and southwest of Valemount, yet the lodge is only accessible by air or extended water journey, making it extremely remote and affording a true wilderness experience.

Travel to Silvertip starts with a private charter flight from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Williams Lake, BC (1 hour). From there the helicopters pick up guests for a flight to Silvertip Lodge (45min). All travel from Vancouver is included in the package price.

Silvertip Heliskiing Terrain & Snow

The Cariboos are the most northerly mountain sub-range of British Columbia’s vast Columbia Mountains that extend hundreds of miles from the interior of the province southwards to the Canada/USA border. They are known for their dry, reliable powder snow. Two of Canada’s very first helicopter skiing companies launched their operations here in the 1970s, and they are still active to this day.

The Silvertip Heli-Skiing tenure receives 60 plus feet (18.3 metres) of snow each season.

Silvertip Heli-Skiing has 1,440 square kilometres (356,000 acres) of tenure, with 118 named runs. The terrain at Silvertip is extremely varied. Wide open alpine vistas with deep untouched powder snow is mixed with some of the best tree skiing to be found anywhere. Some of the best terrain is only moments from the lodge so there’s no time lost driving to a staging area in the morning. Enjoy the quiet and stillness of this sensationally beautiful part of BC.

The packages include unlimited vertical and Silvertip guarantees a minimum of 30,000ft/9,200m for a 3 day trip, and up to 80,000ft/24,500m for a 7 day trip.

Just got back our 4 day trip, and I can say its going to be a long wait till next year. Our group knew we were rebooking after day 1. We had Dale as our guide and he put us on fantastic terrain everyday . He doesn't like to stop often and regroup which was fine by us. We skied a bit over 70,000 vert for the trip. We would of easily skied 90k in the 4 days, but we had two afternoons with bad weather. We were very pleased with the pace of skiing and the amount. The snow was great even though their snow pack was half of what it usually is for the third week in January. The burnt forest tree skiing was amazing! Steep and deep and perfectly spaced. The lodge is very comfortable and cozy. The staff was very accommodating and fun. Food was excellent and so were the spa services. And we caught a couple of monster rainbows just down the shoreline from the lodge, what a treat. Cant wait till next year! See our video here

Had a great time!
