Nord Freeride Cat Skiing
Nord Freeride is possibly the world's newest cat ski operation. Starting in season 22/23, Nord Freeride has been scoping vast terrain above its 2 mountain lodges in the Shar Mountains of Kosovo. For more info on where Nord Freeride is, see the Location tab.
Runs are between up to 11km long, but more often up to 7km in length. The longest skiable vertical descent is 1,020m, with most in the realms of 500 to 700m vertical. Seven runs per day will be the initial standard for a total vertical of 4,000 to 5,000m/day! The terrain includes the highest mountain in Kosovo, hard up on the border with North Macedonia, the 2,660m Velika Rudoka.
The accommodation used includes Nord Lodge, located at 1,550m near the village of Restelicë in southwest Kosovo. New accommodation at a location further north near the village of Zaplluxhe is Skarpa Lodge. Each lodge has cosy hotel style rooms, plus Skarpa Lodge has several chalet options. Naturally, all acommodation is included in the tariff, with full board (breakfast, lunch & dinner). The food & drink is based on local, organic ingredients.
