Limone Piemonte (Reserva Bianca) Ski Resort Italy

Tucked away in the deep south of the Piedmont region near the city of Cuneo, and just 45km north of the Mediterranean Sea coast, resides the curious snow-magnet of Limone Piemonte ski resort. Also known as Reserva Bianca (the White Reserve!), during a classic ‘retour d’est’ winter weather pattern, Limone Piemonte can get pounded by masses of snow and is worthy of our attention sometime soon….

From a ski lifts & terrain perspective, Limone Piemonte has a more than respectable skiable vertical of over 1,000m; up to 80km of pistes; and 16 lifts (incl. a gondola & 11 chairlifts). The highest lifted point in the ski area is below 2,100m altitude, and whilst certainly not the best, the elevation is more than enough to catch the majority of the snowfall in the region, with the majority of the lifted ski terrain situated in the zone above 1,400m a.s.l. We have it on good authority that the tree skiing here can be awesome during a storm!

An interesting quirk of the ski resort is that the Scandinavian SkiPass is valid here for up to 5 days!

Limone Piemonte is located around 120km (just over 1½hr drive) south of the Turin (Torino) city centre and just 6km north of the French border. The closest major town is Cuneo, 28km by road to the north of the ski resort. A fantastic aspect of the ski area is the wonderful access by train to the main village of Limone Piemonte. Trains from Turin (Porta Nuova station), usually with a change required at Cuneo or Fossano, take around 2 to 3hr depending on the number of stops.

Anyone visiting the region overnight can stay at the bottom of the mountain in the sizeable village of Limone Piemonte, or higher up at the smaller, but more snow-sure hamlets of Limonetto & Limone Q1400. Search & book via the Limone Piemonte Ski Accommodation Listings
