Mt Baker Lodging

Mt Baker Lodging

Hokkaido Explorer Tour
There are no on-mountain Mt Baker accommodations. Mt Baker lodging can be found along the Mt Baker highway, with a focus of accommodations in the nearby town of Glacier and Maple Falls. These Mt Baker accommodations are mostly bed and breakfasts, cabins and vacation rentals. Otherwise there are hotels in Bellingham.

Glacier Lodging

The little town of Glacier is located 17 miles west of Mt Baker and has a population of only 154. It’s a really chilled out place that’s so sleepy it’s almost catatonic; a great place to escape from it all. Glacier has a couple of bars and restaurants, a general store, bakery, a ski shop, and the Mt Baker snowboard shop.

Glacier lodging includes vacation rentals for groups, cabins and condos including studios for 1-2 guests.

The town of Maple Falls, 26 miles west of Mt Baker, is a similar size with a population of 146 although it has a few more amenities. Maple Falls Lodging mostly consists of vacation rentals and chalets.

The town of Bellingham has a much wider range of accommodations for Mt Baker, including lots of hotels and more bed and breakfasts. Bellingham is located 53 miles west of the ski area (1:15 hours).

Four Points by Sheraton Bellingham is a very convenient place to stay if you want to utilize the Baker Bus, as the hotel is a pick up point for the bus to Mt Baker Ski Area on weekends and holidays.

You can search for Bellingham hotels here.

Camping at Mt Baker Ski Area

The only lodging at Mt Baker is of the BYO variety, with RV and camper parking available for a somewhat hefty fee. There are no hook-ups so all vehicles need to be self-contained.
