Keystone Shopping

Tyax Heli Skiing Packages
For such a large resort with an abundance of lodging, Keystone Colorado has surprisingly few shops. Mountain House and Lakeside Village have a small number of shops, with most of the shopping located around the core pedestrian village of River Run.

Keystone Ski Shops

Keystone Sports has their main store in River Run. This large shop has hardware, apparel and accessories, with an emphasis on snowboarding. Keystone Sports has another small retail store at Mountain House that sells ski and snowboard accessories.

As is common at many Colorado ski resorts, Keystone Resort has a Christy Sports shop. This Keystone ski shop sells skis, snowboards, other hardware, a predominance of Spyder apparel, lots of accessories, and kids’ snow clothing.

River Run also has a Surefoot shop if you’re in the market for a new pair of ski boots.

Keystone Resort has a little skiosk at Summit House at the top of the Gondola in case you’re in quick need of ski or snowboard accessories.

General Keystone Shopping

Keystone has the usual assortment of resort style shops, selling souvenirs, jewellery, t-shirts and other clothing. Keystone has the requisite Rocky Mountain chocolate shop, or check out The Snack Shack. This shop has a huge variety of sweet and savoury nibbles – my sort of heaven!

There are a few shopping options for souvenirs emblazoned with the Keystone logo. Shirt Off My Back has an array of t-shirts, hoodies, trackpants, and hats. The official Keystone Logo shop is located next to Starbucks, selling a large range of souvenirs. There is also a Keystone Sports logo and accessories shop inside Mountain House.

River Run Village has a ladies boutique with jewellery and “unique” clothing, including some remarkably hideous alpaca jumpers (I’m sure someone likes them?!).

Grocery Shopping Keystone

A small and a tad pricey grocery store is situated in River Run Village, the Rockin’ R Ranch Trading Post. This shop sells liquor, basic groceries, frozen goods, and a few fruits and vegetables.

A better option is to go to Dillon/Silverthorne or Frisco which has a full range of supermarkets including one dedicated to wholly organic products.

Outlet Stores

Only five minutes down Hwy 6, shopaholics and non-shopaholics alike will want to make the short road trip to the Outlet Stores in Dillon/Silverthorne. All the major American clothing brands have a store selling their goods at ridiculously low prices. Names include Calvin Klein, Gap, Levis, Columbia, Adidas, Jockey, Nike, Oshkosh, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Van Heusen and Tommy Hilfiger.

Silverthorne also has a wide selection of retail shops. Very cheap skis and boards are available at a number of shops. Try the ‘Mountain Sports Outlet’ for some real bargains.

Located further down the road from Dillon/Silverthorne is the historic township of Frisco aka the Main Street To The Rockies. It can provide a lovely location to spend an afternoon shopping, eating and rubbernecking in the galleries.
