Perisher Restaurants & Bars

The Perisher nightlife is not a highlight of the resort as the general culture seems to be that most folks hole up in the comfort of their hotel or lodge and don’t venture out. In a similar vein, the Perisher restaurant scene is not big, because many lodgings have half-board or full-board packages so many people only have dinner at their hotel or ski lodge. To further shrink the number of Perisher restaurant offerings, some are not open during the fringes of the season. For daytime dining, see the Perisher facilities page.

Perisher Valley Restaurants – Evening Dining

Dinner and drinks at the White Spider Restaurant and Bar at the Eiger Chalet is a must-do. This is an iconic Perisher restaurant which has perfected their offerings since 1971. The décor is borrowed from Europe and some of the gastronomy has European inspiration as well. The fine cuisine can be accompanied by a range of wines. This is a restaurant you can easily dine at more than once during your stay.

Snow Gums Restaurant at the Perisher Valley Hotel is open to the public as well as its guests. The restaurant overlooks the slopes of Front Valley which is particularly nice when night skiing is on (and the fireworks). The menu is generally fine dining a la carte, whilst on some evenings the restaurant has a buffet of seafood or the like.

The Man from Snowy River has pub grub in the bar or if you can manage to snare a booking for dinner in the dining room, you’ll be treated to views of the groomers working across Front Valley or night skiing, via the huge glass façade.

The Stallions Restaurant at the Stables has a select menu of lovely food at reasonable prices. It’s located a few minutes walk up the hill from the Man. Bookings are essential.

Aldo’s Café and Pizzeria is an Italian restaurant that’s open a couple of nights a week. It’s located in the Perisher Skitube Terminal.

Perisher Après Ski

Slide into the Sundeck Hotel on Front Valley to end your ski day and enjoy the views. It is owned by a publican from Tathra and they brew their own beer.

Or meet the crew at Jax Bar at the base area in the Perisher Centre. This huge bar feels a bit like a cafeteria, although the resort is starting to decorate the place somewhat with some ski memorabilia, which is slowly giving the place some atmosphere.

Base 1720 Bar at the Perisher Manor Hotel definitely feels like a cafeteria that’s completely soulless, so it’s only good if your mates insist you meet them there.

The White Spider bar at the Eiger Chalet welcomes stragglers off the hill in ski or snowboard boots, or you might like to change into your après ski attire. The bar is a nice venue for a sedate wine or cocktail, with margaritas being their specialty. Sometimes the dance floor fires up.

Or for a really chilled out pre-dinner drink, the Corroboree Lodge has an intimate bar with a lovely ambience where you can sit in front of the fireplace or by the windows to take in the views.

Perisher Nightlife

The Man from Snowy River Hotel is an institution. It’s good for après ski drinks that can then progress onto evening drinks, and sometimes the place gets hopping.
