The village is rather small and the Solitude dining and nightlife options are very limited. Many families choose to stay in their condos and self-cater, so evenings in Solitude are generally very mellow.

Solitude Restaurants

The loveliest Solitude restaurant is St Bernard’s at the Inn at Solitude. The fine dining restaurant is very cozy with delightful ambience, and has tasteful décor including a beautiful grand fireplace. The appetizing French-inspired-American cuisine is quality fare, although the menu selection is not large. Dinner can be accompanied by an array of quality wines. For upscale dining, the prices are quite reasonably relative to what you’d find at the Park City resorts.

The Honeycomb Grill has a mix of upscale and casual fare that is very well priced. This Solitude restaurant and bar has some really interesting appetizers, a range of mains that include some of the usual suspects, and a great range of drinks. You can also BYO wine but it attracts a pretty hefty corkage fee. The ambience is rather nice and the big old wooden chairs add to the character of the décor. The restaurant is open for dinner and for lunch, where on sunny days you can catch some rays on the patio.

For a simple meal try the Stone Haus Pizzeria & Creamery in the middle of the village. You can get take-away pizza, or if you really feel like staying at home, they deliver. Similarly, the Thirsty Squirrel serves bar snacks such as nachos and pizza, or you can order a pizza from the pizzeria and eat it at the pub.

For a unique dining option, see if you can get into the Solitude Yurt. Diners don snowshoes and wander for less than a mile to the cozy yurt (a Mongolian inspired tent) carrying lanterns. The chef creates a gourmet 5 course meal whilst guests are entertained by banter from the host. The yurt can only cater for up to 24 people so early reservations are essential.

A must whilst you’re at Solitude is to head for breakfast, lunch, après or dinner at The Silver Fork Lodge (11332 E. Big Cottonwood Canyon), a mile down the road from the resort.

Solitude Bars & Nightlife

A few après beverages are available at the Argenta Pub in the Moonbeam Day Lodge. This pub can get a little festive on the weekends!

The main pub at Solitude is The Thirsty Squirrel. The degree of revelry going on here varies significantly depending upon the night, but even if quiet, it is a cozy bar to share embellished ski stories, play pool, drink local beer and order bar appetizers. Many of the workers hang out here, so it’s a great place to get the low down on Solitude, although not surprisingly the locals are a little protective of their secret powder stashes!

For a sophisticated drink you can head to the Library Bar at the Inn at Solitude. This Solitude bar is intimate and gorgeous and you can relax in one of the oversized chairs. On fine days you can enjoy a drink and appetizer out on the patio, and watch the stragglers coming in from the hill.
