Facilities & Services

Tyax Heli Skiing Packages
Mount Bachelor has an abundance of amenities for skiers and snowboarders. West Village is the main base area which includes the Mountain Gateway building where you pick up tickets, equipment rentals, and organise lessons. And strangely the restrooms are located at the back of the retail shop. The adjacent West Village Lodge houses daycare and dining options. This base has mostly intermediate-plus terrain above it, and there’s also a learning zone near the day lodge.

The other base (Eastside) has the Sunrise Lodge with dining options, lessons, rentals and a little retail. This base is favoured by those with beginners in their group due to the abundance of green runs above it.

Mount Bachelor Ski Rentals, Snowboard Rental

Mt Bachelor ski rentals are available at both base areas, although the main rental outlet is at Westside. Hopefully you like Salomon skis and Burton snowboards because that’s all you’ve got to choose from.

On busy weekends, you may prefer to avoid the really long queues to rent gear on-mountain and visit one of the Bend ski rental shops instead. There are several Bend ski shops, although a few of them focus on cross country ski gear.

Powderhouse has reasonably priced equipment and rents out skis, snowboards, cross country skis, and snowshoes.

There are also a couple of Sunriver ski shops for rental equipment.

Mt Bachelor Ski School

The main base for the Mt Bachelor ski school is at the West Village, although there are also lessons conducted over at Sunrise Lodge. The lesson offerings are very run-of-the-mill, with the possible exception of the very cheap adult 5-day never-ever lesson packages.

For kids, group ski lessons start from age 3.5, whilst for snowboarding lessons the minimum age requirement is 6.

Facilities for Children

The Mt. Bachelor Childcare Center in the West Village Lodge is a state-licensed facility offering care for children aged 6 weeks to 10 years old. You can choose from 2 hour, half day or full day programs, and combo half day lesson and childcare programs are available.

The tubing park near the West Village base is pretty impressive, with a tube tow, 6 lanes and an 800 foot ride with plenty of rollers. Kids must be at least 42” tall.

Eating On Mountain

Mount Bachelor has lots of dining options on-mountain, although on busy days many of them can struggle with the numbers. The mountain lacks any fabulous dining spots that really lap up the views. There’s nothing at the summit, which is a shame, but it makes sense considering the top chair isn’t always open.

The mid-mountain Pine Marten Lodge offers limited views, but it misses the mark. Pine Marten has a coffee shop, restaurant, and cafeteria with slow food such as burritos, tacos, and burgers, and not enough options for grab and go lunches. Despite being a huge building, there are inadequate tables and chairs and too many open spaces.

The West Village is another popular day lodge which houses the Clearing Rock Bar, a full table service restaurant, and a cafeteria. The cafeteria at Sunrise Lodge is another option.

Mount Bachelor Ski Shop

The Mountain Gateway building houses a large ski and snowboard shop, Gravity Sports, with a big selection of hardwear. You can demo the skis and snowboards and make the most of the boot fitting services. The Mt Bachelor shop also has plenty of outerwear, other apparel, ski and snowboard accessories, and souvenirs.
