Mammoth Restaurants & Bars

Tyax Heli Skiing Packages
There is a good range of Mammoth restaurants and bars in the Village at Mammoth and also down in the town of Mammoth Lakes.

Mammoth Restaurants

Surprisingly, considering that Mammoth Mountain is such a well developed ski resort, many of the dining establishments are incredibly affordable, especially in town, and there are only a handful of restaurants that are upscale or in the fine dining category.

The Village at Mammoth has about 20 eateries that range from Starbucks up to fine dining at the restaurant at the Westin Hotel. Campo is a lovely restaurant in the Village at Mammoth. It serves up largely upscale Italian fare with a very happy ambience, and it’s great for brunch, après ski drinks and appetizers, and dinner.

Down in Mammoth Lakes there are various inexpensive cafes and eateries for day time fare. In Main Street you could try Schat’s Bakkery (ie a bakery!) or the Stellar Brew coffee shop.

For après ski, see if Slocum’s in Main Street has their really cheap burger offers on for happy hour, or stay for dinner and enjoy the gastropub dining. Old Mammoth Road in Mammoth Lakes also has several restaurants and bars. For a nice cheap Mexican feed, head to Roberto’s.

If you want to spoil yourself, The Lakefront at the Tamarack Lodge has lovely fine dining. This historic rustic hotel offers lovely olde world charm, and it’s in a really picturesque setting on the banks of Twin Lakes, although you might not notice the lovely views during your winter dinner!

Mammoth Bars & Nightlife

For après ski drinks, it’s easy enough to head to one of the bars at the day lodges. The Grizzly bar at Canyon Lodge is often packed, and it offers lovely views up the mountain. Or the Dry Creek Bar in the Mammoth Mountain Inn (opposite Main Lodge) is upscale rustic, and it offers the most amazing alpenglow views up the mountain that are perfectly framed in the windows.

Down in the Village at Mammoth, the dining establishments also double as bars, and most of them have amazing happy hour food and drink specials. These range from pub style bars to sophisticated wine bars. Places such as Lakanuki attract a young crowd, and it gets louder as the night progresses and it turns into a dance club.

There are several Mammoth bars down in town. In particular, the Mammoth Rock N Bowl (at the bowling alley) seems to be rather popular.
