Alyeska Restaurants

The Seven Glaciers restaurant at the top of the tram provides an amazing fine dining experience. The restaurant isn’t open every night, so you’ll need to plan ahead if you want to spoil yourself.

At Hotel Aleyska is the lovely Sakura Japanese fusion restaurant, which serves up yummy rolls, other Japanese fare, sake, and cocktails. This is a deluxe dining experience although the tables are communal, so perhaps this is not the place to go if you’re looking for a quiet romantic dinner.

Also at Hotel Alyeska is the small Aurora Bar and Grill, that has a large menu of semi casual fare. The restaurant section only has about 12 tables, so there can be a wait for dinner, even on weeknights. The bar area next door is equally small and surprisingly they allow children in there.

For an inexpensive dinner, head to the Sitzmark Bar and Grill near the day lodge.

Nearby is Jack Sprat, a lovely restaurant with a small but well selected food menu and a good wine list.

Also well acclaimed is the Double Musky restaurant in Girdwood, that serves up Alaskan Cajun food.

Cafes

In addition to the Alyeska Resort eateries such as the Pond Café at Hotel Alyeska and the Java Café at the day lodge, there are a few cafes in Hightower Road Girdwood for good coffee and simple daytime nosh.

Bars & Nightlife

The Sitzmark has a fun vibe and particularly on weekends it can fire up for après ski drinks. Avoid the margarita specials though – it sounds really cheap and the drink is really cheap….and nasty! On some nights there is live music at the Sitzmark, including some high profile musicians.
