Private Lessons - Niseko & Surrounding Areas

Make the most of your time in the Niseko area and have the best experience on the mountain by improving your skills with a Whiteroom private ski or snowboard lesson.

A privately instructed lesson lets you go one-on-one or in small private groups of up to 4 per instructor.

Kids under 5 will require their own private instructor for 1 to 1 tuition. Skiers and snowboarders cannot be mixed in a group.

Whiteroom can tailor the day to either discover a new sport, improve your skills and technique, gain confidence on piste or in powder, and explore more of the mountain to make the most of your time.

If you feel you've already explored Niseko, your instructor can take you to a nearby ski resort for more terrain variety. If you want to learn to ski or snowboard powder or refine your powder technique, the instructor will be able to take you to spots with the highest likelihood of finding fresh powder.

The start time of the day is flexible and the instructor can meet you at your lift of choice or pick you up at your accommodation and drop you off at the end of the day.

Book one or more days for yourself as private lessons or with your group of up to 4. PLEASE NOTE - These lessons are for PRIVATE GROUPS of up to 4 guests only i.e. you cannot join a group.

Advanced bookings are essential because these Niseko ski lessons book out well ahead of time. You can make a booking request to check about availability for your preferred dates.

Other Destinations

These PRIVATE GROUP day lessons can go to any of the following ski areas.

Niseko United

Niseko is made up of 4 interconnected resorts. The groomers in Niseko are long and offer fantastic views of Mt Yotei on fine days. Coupled with plenty of off-piste powder and excellent tree skiing terrain on offer for those looking to ski in the trees or powder for the first time or challenge themselves further. Niseko has it all. It's a great resort to explore from December until early May.

Rusutsu is a 40 minutes drive from Niseko. The terrain on offer across Mt Isola, East and West Mountain is perfect for first time skiers or snowboarders as well as those wanting to take on the many long tree lined groomers or head off into the well spaced tree glades for some fun. If you want to experience the trees or powder for the first time or progress your level, then Rusutsu is ideal.

Sapporo Kokusai

Located closer to the coast and with magnificent views back over Otaru and the Sea of Japan on a clear day, Kokusai has some of the best groomed and learning terrain around. It has amazing long groomed runs to satisfy all levels with tree skiing to match.  A favourite for Sapporo and Otaru locals, it’s an ideal resort to improve your technique.

Nestled down the valley from Kokusai, Asari is a classic locals Japanese ski resort. Protected by the surrounding mountains from the wind, it also provides excellent teaching terrain. Added to that, Asari is part of Asarigawa Onsen Village, which is the perfect place to relax in one of the many onsens after a day on the slopes.

Otaru Tenguyama

Located above the town of Otaru, Tenguyama offers excellent terrain for all abilities, with amazing views on fine days across Otaru and the bay to the mountains in the distance. On most weekdays it will feel like your own private ski resort.

Niseko Moiwa is a great little resort close to Niseko that offers good beginner to intermediate friendly terrain on its wide groomers. Moiwa is also known to be a little powder haven around Niseko for those wanting to get a little deeper in the powder. Close to the base of Moiwa are some of the best onsens in the Niseko area, which is a great way to end the day. It is even possible to ski to and from Niseko resorts, but a different lift pass is required.

Please advise us if you need this equipment when booking. You may also bring your own gear to use. If your Backcountry trip requires Alpine Touring equipment, split boards or snowshoes we will advise & recommend where the equipment can be rented from if you do not already have your own.

Pre Purchasing Lift Tickets

For day trips we recommend against purchasing lift tickets in advance, as there are no additional cost savings. Pre-purchasing lift tickets may only serve to limit your flexibility. Due to localized weather patterns, conditions can often be much different at nearby resorts & may influence the final destination decision.

Extra transportation charges

Greater Furano or Niseko area (outside of Hirafu and immediate surrounds and outside of Furano and immediate surrounds) requiring approximately one hour extra travel – client pays ¥10,000 extra. For example picking up in Rusutsu and taking to Kiroro. For Asahikawa pick-ups then on to Asahidake or Kamui/Pipu it is 2 hrs extra travel on top of 3hrs regular driving to Asahidake. 5hrs of driving plus guiding = a very long day. If clients are staying in Asahikawa clients they will be charged and extra ¥10,000 and must also pay for the guides accommodation either before or after the guided day.
