Lake Stella Mountain Huts

Just a few kms down the road from the Mt Lyford ski field is the Lake Stella Mountain Retreat. It features the really funky little eco-friendly Lake Stella Mountain Huts that are solar powered (so you can charge your phone) and have combustion fires for heating. Each of the Lake Stella Mountain Huts has a private wood fired hot tub for 2 people overlooking the lake (where you can ice skate in winter if you like). A communal hut has a kitchen, dining area, and bathroom facilities. This is the original ticket office for the Mt Lyford ski field that has been refurbished. From the huts there are some great hikes.

Lyford Lodge

The Mt Lyford Lodge is a magnificent log building with a superb bar/restaurant and a range of accommodation styles located at the base of the mountain, below the snowline. There are 6 motel style rooms with ensuite, 4 twin rooms and 3 bunkrooms with shared facilities. A communal lounge, kitchen and laundry round out the facilities. Mt Lyford Holiday Homes

Self contained log homes are available for rent. They are located in Lyford Village which is a few kilometres drive up the mountain road from Lyford Lodge.
