Gitos Frosty Rides (GFR) is a Georgia based mountain guiding company that operates ski & splitboard tours plus single or multi-day guiding services in Svaneti (Mestia-Tetnuldi-Hatsvali), Gudauri & Bakuriani. The main guide is Giorgi (Gito) Gelashvili, an experienced GMGA certified snowboarder, but tours and guiding can be for skiers, snowboarders or mixed groups.

In Feb 2025 I had an ultimate pleasure to experience a pow day on splitboard in Svanetii/Ushguli region with Gito! It was pure ecstasy!
Truly recomend Gito as an professional guide with a great sense of humour :)

It’s always an amazing experience in Mestia! The mountains of Svaneti are breathtaking, and you can really feel their power and beauty. The splitboard tours were exciting and unforgettable. My trip to Georgia was honestly the best ski trip I ever had. It’s a such special place! The culture, the architecture, the vibe.. all included!!
Thanks to Gito we explored the most majestic mountains and and skied epic lines. I always felt safe and comfortable with him. Can’t wait to go back!!!

გვეხმარა აღჭურვილობის შერჩევაში, თავისივე ჯიპით უშგულში უსაფრთხოდ და კომფორტულად წაგვიყვანა.
მთაში გასვლამდე მოგვაწყო დეტალური ინსტრუქტაჟი უსაფრთხოების წესებზე. მთელი ასვლის განმავლობაში მის გვერდში დგომასა და მხარდაჭერას მუდმივად ვგრძნობდით.
სქი-ტური კი გვქონდა დაგეგმილი, მაგრამ ამასთან ერთად მივიღეთ ნამდვილი თავგადასავალი, შესანიშნავი ექსკურსია, მხიარული ატმოსფერო და გულწრფელი ზრუნვა.
გიდს გულითადი მადლობა ყველაფრისთვის — მომავალ წელს აუცილებლად დავბრუნდებით!

Giorgi is a very professional and friendly person.
He helped us choose the equipment, took us to Ushguli safely and comfortably in his own jeep.
Before going to the mountains, he gave us a detailed briefing on safety rules. Throughout the entire climb, we constantly felt his support and support.
We had planned a ski tour, but at the same time we got a real adventure, a great excursion, a fun atmosphere and sincere care.
Thank you very much to the guide for everything — we will definitely come back next year!

When I visited the beautiful country of Georgia and the epic mtns of Svaneti I had many questions on where and how to do things. Gito was a huge help and great resource who made my time more efficient and my money go further. It’s a hard place to navigate with the infrastructure the way it is local knowledge is a key factor here even more so than anywhere. I really liked Gito and his crews vibe as well they know who do things right!

We had the absolute pleasure of joining Gito for some splitboarding tours in February 2024, and it was an unforgettable experience. Gito is incredibly experienced, super friendly, and just a really cool person to be around. I felt safe and well taken care of at all times, and his hospitality made the whole trip even more special. I would 100% do it again and can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for an epic adventure with a top-notch guide – Gito is your guy!

If you're looking for someone to show you the beauty of the Georgian mountains not just through the eyes of a tourist but with the heart of a local, Gajd (Gito) is your guy. We did a multi-day trek with him in the Svaneti region, and I can honestly say – it was one of the best outdoor experiences of my life.

In three words, Gajd is: professional, experienced, and calm. He knows every path, every viewpoint, and every potential risk the mountains may bring. But it’s not just about safety – it’s about his incredible personal touch, great sense of humor, and the atmosphere he creates. With Gajd, you feel like you're hiking with a friend, not just a guide. Throughout the trek, he took care of our comfort and safety, but he also enriched our journey by sharing local culture, stories, and traditions. He told us about the villages we passed, the mountains we climbed, and even prepared traditional meals by the fire in the evenings. It’s clear that he truly loves what he does. He’s not just doing a job – he’s sharing a piece of his home and his passion. Gajd is the kind of person who feels at home in the mountains – and that gives you a huge sense of security, especially if you’re new to the region.

Unforgettable Experience

We had the pleasure of riding with Gito from GFR during a massive storm cycle in late January 2024. Expert local knowledge, fast (literally!) & efficient ground transport, safe route selection and a no-nonsense approach made for a truly memorable experience. Expect untracked powder, lots of thrills, wonderful food, laughter and loads of après ski shenanigans.

Anyone joining a tour with GFR should be fit and leave any pretence or ‘chips on the shoulder’ at home. Bring your best relaxed attitude, plus fat ski gear or powder boards for deep snow and be prepared for the unexpected because in Mestia you are “not in Kansas anymore Toto!”. Can’t wait to go back.
