Where to Stay in Soelden

The town of Sölden is a sprawling mass lining the busy main road heading up the Oetz valley toward Obergurgl. It has zero traditional ambiance but is certainly functional. If looking for a traditional Austrian ski village, Solden may not be for you. The upper areas of Hochsölden & the small Innerwald, Unterwald & Ausserwald at the top of the funicular provide options to move above the town.

Alternative Places to Stay Near Sölden

Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

If one has their own transport, alternative places to stay include up the valley in Obergurgl Hochgurgl.

Längenfeld

Down the valley at Laengenfeld is the totally awesome Aqua Dome Hotel - a classic modern Austrian, splash & stay location. Several other excellent hotels & guesthouses line the main through Längenfeld. Be wary of staying too close to the busy, narrow road as noise from the substantial volume of traffic heading to Soelden can be distracting to say the least.

Aqua Dome Hotel, Ötztal Hotels Aqua Dome Hotel  $$$$
The Aqua Dome Hotel is luxurious 4-star superior hotel offering stunning views of the Ötztal Alps, spacious & elegant rooms plus access to the only thermal spring in Western Austria. Soak your cares away in the amazing pool & spa complex.....

Oetz

Oetz is a Powderhounds favourite based on price, access to ski resorts, lack of crowds & great places to eat. Travel times up the road to Soelden (or Gurgl) are more than tolerable, and winter driving in the valley is easy with only one short, winding & icy section of road. Affordable guesthouses off the main road usually have availability when Soelden does not, plus its usually half the price. An excellent public bus service links all the resorts to Oetz as well.
