The broad Innsbruck ski region has phenomenal off-piste freeride & backcountry terrain. Much of it is only a short distance from the ski lifts. Whether it is on the peaks around Kuhtai, the inbounds or backside valley descents of the phemonal mountains at Axamer Lizum, the super steeps of Nordkette,or the summits of Patscherkofel or Glungezer, exploring it on a short visit is most efficiently done with a local instructor or guide.
