The broad Innsbruck ski region has phenomenal off-piste freeride & backcountry terrain The summit area of Glungezer has classic backcountry ski-touring & steep freeride powder lines a short skin up from the top lift. There is even tree skiing here when the snow is deep. Whether it is the super steeps, couloirs & backcountry at Nordkette, on the peaks around Kuhtai, the inbounds or backside of Axamer Lizum, or the summit of Patscherkofel, exploring it all during a short visit is most efficiently done with a local instructor or guide.
