Bell 2 Lodge Packages

In 1996 Last Frontier Heliskiing had the unique opportunity to start a heliski operation in a truly exciting, untouched and remote area of northern British Columbia. Once a basic truck stop for travellers on their way to Alaska and the Yukon, Bell 2 Lodge is now a modern deluxe heliski village.

Bell 2 Lodge is the Last Frontier Heliskiing superior package due to the remote wilderness location of the purpose built deluxe log chalets offered in this package.

With satellite communication and state of the art environmental facilities, the Bell II Lodge offers the comforts of a first class hotel with a rustic touch of the Canadian wild.

You have the option of a 4, 5 and 7 day trip, and the heli skiing consists of only 3 groups of 4 guests and a certified guide (A.C.M.G. or U.I.A.G.M.) in a small and agile helicopter. Each of the heliski packages has a vertical guarantee, with skiing and snowboarding beyond that charged per additional 1,000 vertical metres. This has the advantage over the unlimited vertical packages of some other operators, in that you’re not paying a premium upfront for skiing that you might not get.

The Last Frontier Bell II package also includes all meals, après-ski snacks, the use of powder skis and poles or snowboard, avalanche transceiver, and other safety equipment including an ABS airbag.

If you have any questions or want to check about availability, you can make a booking request.

If weather conditions are unfavourable for flying, you can strap on a pair of snowshoes and explore the Bell Irving River Valley. With a little luck, you may spot a moose, wolf or other animals that frequent this area during the winter season.

Here is a short teaser video to show what you can expect on a Last Frontier Bell 2 Lodge Package....

Bell 2 Lodge

Bell 2 Lodge is a modern and deluxe heli ski village, located in the wilderness in the Skeena mountain range (a remote area of northern British Columbia). See the Last Frontier Heli Skiing location tab for more information.

Located near the Bell 2 bridge over the Bell-Irving River (the Bell 1 bridge is much further south), the lodge had its inception as a fuel stop for trucks. It continues in this important role now, considering that it’s the only places for miles and miles that sells fuel, and the infrequent drivers on the way to Alaska can stop into the main lodge alongside the highway for a coffee.

Bell 2 Lodge wilderness village....

...your deluxe & very spacious room

...and what a place to end the day

The heliski village spreads about 100 metres away from the highway, with a series of log chalets that have 4 hotel-type rooms on 2 storeys. The décor is rustic Canadian log style, and rooms have 2 queen beds or one king bed with luxurious manchester and duvets. The spacious rooms have a private ensuite bathroom, a small desk and a few chairs, and a lovely enclosed wood fireplace (the lodgings are well stocked with firewood and kindling).

The lodge accommodates a maximum of 36 guests at a time.

The outdoor hot tub....

... short walk to the common lodge

...massage services on offer.

The main lodge houses the communal areas that include the chic dining room, a retail shop, a games room, and an incredibly well organised boot room and ski/snowboard equipment workshop. Upstairs is the well appointed lounge and bar area that includes a quiet room, media room and more games such as foosball.

The dining at Bell 2 Lodge is pretty special and includes gastropub fare for dinner. You won’t go hungry and there’s a good selection of wines and other beverages to accompany the lovely food. Breakfast is buffet style so you can get as much fuel as you need for your day of heli skiing.

There is an outdoor hot tub to soak weary muscles at the end of each day, and there are the all-important massage services available. The lodge also has a fitness room and laundry facilities (not necessarily so important!).

Lovely combustion fireplace....

... deluxe & very spacious rooms

...lovely wilderness setting.

We recommend you read them.

Payments

All payments are non-refundable. We’ll say that again. All payments are non-refundable.

Regular Tours

A deposit equal to 20% has to be made to our secure payment page (we will send you a link) in order to confirm your booking.
The payment of the balance is due 90 days prior to the heli skiing tour start date. For bookings made less than 90 days prior to the trip start date, the full tour price is due at time of booking.

Private Tours & Lodge Buyouts

A deposit of 20% of the tour price is required at the time of booking, 50% is due 180 days prior and the full balance is due 90 days prior. For bookings made less than 90 days prior to the trip start date, the full tour price is due at time of booking.

Waiver

All participants will be required to sign [and have witnessed] a waiver at the lodge prior to skiing or riding.

Cancellation

Sometimes the planets don’t align. If a cancellation is necessary for any reason, it should be made by e-mail. Receipt of the e-mail must be acknowledged before the cancellation can be processed.

  • If a confirmed regular reservation has to be canceled more than 90 days before the beginning of the package, Last Frontier Heliskiing will retain the deposit.
  • If a cancellation is made less than 90 days before the arrival date, the total package payments will be retained. For private tours, see the payment section.

If you need to cancel for:

an uninsured reason or you are not insured

Your options are:

We can attempt to resell your seat on your behalf. If we are able to resell the seat, we will credit your account for the amount paid, less a $500 administration fee, which you can use towards a future trip or you can find a replacement and deal with any associated financial aspects directly with your replacement as long as no payments are overdue.

We reserve the right to cancel any heliski tour at any time. A full refund will be given on the Last Frontier Heliskiing portion of the trip. Last Frontier Heliskiing is not responsible for any costs outside of your heliski package (e.g. flights, hotels, meals, additional transportation etc.)

Insurance

Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Out of Country Medical and Heli-Evacuation Insurance are all highly recommended.

The insurance that we recommend is comprehensive and while unlikely, includes some eye-opening eventualities… If you’re choosing to insure elsewhere, make sure you understand what kind of coverage you have because all payments are non-refundable. Yes, we said it again.

We don’t get a commission, bribe or trips to Hawaii. We offer this option as a service for our customers.

The insurance expense is approximately 6% of the trip cost.

Ability & Fitness

If you have any doubts as to the skill level or fitness required, you should get in touch with us. If you decide to travel and are unable to meet this level, we reserve the right to remove you from the ski program.

Hotel Bookings

Cancellations or changes of the Vancouver/Terrace hotels are required at least 72 hours prior to the reservation date. For cancellations within 72 hours of the reservation date, there is no refund.

Arrival & Transfers

It is the responsibility of the guest to meet scheduled transfers on time. If a transfer is missed, the guest is responsible for any extra costs incurred. It is also the guest’s responsibility to ensure proper entry through Canadian Customs and Immigration if entering from outside Canada.
