Where is Mt Rose Tahoe?

The address of Mt Rose Ski Tahoe aka the Mt Rose Ski Resort is 22,222 Mt. Rose Highway Reno Nevada. Even though Mt Rose is officially in Reno, it’s actually located 25 miles southwest of downtown Reno between the city and Lake Tahoe.

Mt Rose Nevada is only 11 miles northeast of Incline Village on the north shore of Lake Tahoe (which is close to the Diamond Peak Ski Resort). A little further around the lake is Crystal Bay (13.5 miles away) and Kings Beach (15 miles).

The main gateway airport for Mt Rose Tahoe is the Reno Tahoe Airport, only 22 miles from Mt Rose NV.

Driving to Mt Rose Nevada

Rentals cars are available at the Reno Tahoe Airport; a 4WD vehicle would be advisable.

The drive up to Mt Rose Tahoe from Reno or Incline Village is generally OK but you should check road conditions before heading up. The ascent is a bit steeper from the Incline Village side because the Mt Rose Highway heads up and over the summit. Chains should be carried.

The primary parking lot is near Main Lodge, which is delightfully close to the lodge and the ski slopes. This is the recommended car park for beginners, and those requiring equipment rentals or ski school.

There is also a parking lot near the Winters Creek Lodge (Highway 878) on the Slide side of Mt Rose Ski Resort (closer to Reno). The Winters Creek Lodge does not offer rentals or ski lessons. The two day lodges are about 1.8 miles away from each other by road.

Mt Rose Shuttles

Tahoe Ski Shuttle provides a shuttle service between Reno and Mt Rose on Fridays and Saturdays. Reno hotel pick-ups include Atlantis, Sands, Silver Legacy / Circus Circus / Eldorado, and Grand Sierra Resort, so the drive times to the resort can be rather lengthy.

If you’re staying in one of the Incline Village hotels such as the Incline Village Hyatt Hotel, driving distances are:

• Diamond Peak – 2.3 miles. There are regular shuttle buses between the Hyatt Hotel and the Diamond Peak Ski Resort.
• Northstar California is 12 miles to the northwest (20 mins).
• Heavenly Ski Resort is 27 miles to the south and adjacent to South Lake Tahoe (35 minutes).
• Squaw Valley is 22 miles to the west and Alpine Meadows is next door (35 minutes).
