There is no lodging on-mountain at the Pucon Ski Resort, and whilst there are a few cabanas on the access road to Villarrica Volcano, most people stay in the town of Pucón or on the southwest shores of Lake Villarrica on the outskirts of Pucon.
In addition to lots of Pucon hotels, other accommodation types include hosterias, cabanas and hostels. A variety of budgets can be catered for, starting with a range of backpacker dormitory accommodations and simple private rooms, up to luxury hotels.
During summer Pucon is teeming with tourists and the lodging is a bit pricey, whilst during winter the prices drop dramatically so it’s easy to get great value for money.
The most glamorous Pucon hotel is the
Hotel Antumalal, a retro chic boutique hotel where you feel like a revered guest rather than just a number. It’s the sort of classic luxurious hotel where you wonder if James Bond might pop in at any moment wearing his tuxedo (thankfully the Hotel Antumalal is delightfully low key so you don’t need to wear a cocktail frock)! This lavish hotel is a fantastic place to retreat after a big day of adventure skiing or a chilled out day soaking in thermal hot springs. The Antumalal Hotel is located just 2km out of town perched up on the hill alongside Lago Villarrica, so the views from the hotel rooms, lounge, restaurant, terrace, swimming pool and day spa are all spectacular. Everything about the place is old-world stunning.
The
Gran Hotel Pucon is even more historic. Situated right on the lake in town, it offers great views in various directions. There are many elements of the Gran Hotel Pucon that are rather grandiose and it’s a rather fine Pucon hotel, but it’s becoming rather dated. Like the Pucon ski resort, the management seem to not place enough emphasis on refurbishing it.
You can use the
Pucon accommodation listings to search for other Pucon hotels, cabanas and hostels.
