Esquel Hotels and Accommodation

Most visitors to La Hoya ski resort stay in Esquel where there are lots of different accommodation options for a range of budgets.

The central part of Esquel Argentina is reasonably compact and easy to navigate on foot, and has various hotels, hosterias and hostels that provide easy access to the shops, restaurants and bars of Esquel.

Along the northern parts of Av Ameghino towards the outskirts of town are an abundance of cabanas. The cabanas/cabins can be a reasonably inexpensive accommodation option for small groups or families. The walk into centro is about 1.5km to 2km.

Las Bayas is a luxury boutique hotel located in the heart of Esquel (Av Alvear 985, near the corner of 25 de Mayo). This 4 star hotel has 10 spacious rooms with upscale décor and delightful facilities.

A good choice for a 3 star hotel is the Plaza Esquel Hosteria and Spa. The hotel is proud of its location opposite the plaza, so you get the feeling that it’s located adjacent to a grandiose plaza that’s in the central part of town. Don’t get too excited because the plaza is just a simple park, and it’s about a 500 to 800 metre walk to the heart of Esquel. The Plaza Esquel Hosteria has simple rooms of moderate size, with flat screen TV, and free wireless internet. The hosteria also has a spa and sauna.

La Hoya Accommodation

La Hoya ski resort has a very basic family run lodge located on-mountain adjacent to the car park. This could be a good place to stay if you want to ski all day every day, but there are no other activities, bars, or restaurants at La Hoya. Considering it’s only a short drive between Esquel and La Hoya, most people stay in town.
