Central Zone Resort Smasher
The Central Zone Resort Smasher Tour from Summit Ski is a multi-day ski safari incorporating a multiple ski areas in the Central Hokkaido region and within easy driving distance of your base in Furano. For mixed group tours, the focus of the terrain is to ski or ride plenty of powder at the ski resorts, with a little short hike here and there.
The ski areas of
Central Hokkaido are powder laden. Due to the location away from the coast, the climatic conditions in Central Hokkaido produce low humidity dry powder that falls in abundance. The region also has the highest mountains of Hokkaido. The Central Zone Resort Smasher heads to some of the best ski areas of the Hokkaido Powder Belt such as
Furano,
Tomamu, and a gem or two, plus the famed
Asahidake in the Daisetsuzan mountains.
Local weather patterns typically vary somewhat, and your guide will have some flexibility to adapt the trip to chase snow conditions in order for you to get the best possible experience.
Groups
This tour is offered as a mixed group tour where solos or small groups can join one of the fixed date tours. The terrain focus is resort gates with a minimal hike here and there. The sample pricing is based on if there are 6 people in the group and it is tiered if there are less people in the group. See the Rates and Inclusions tab for pricing information.
Or if you have your own group you can have a private tour. The tour is customisable to what you want, so you can ride lift-accessed powder, have a mixed of resort and backcountry touring terrain, or go full backcountry. It's up to you.
If you have any questions or want to double check about availability, please
make a booking request.
Ability
This tour requires advanced riding skills. Riders should be fit and feel comfortable skiing black runs and be progressing into powder snow in amongst trees. The guides can provide technique analysis and provide instruction to help develop your powder skills. The guides can also cover introductory skills for riding in the backcountry in order to gain the best experience from the tour.
Equipment
All mountain/powder skis and snowboards will be needed for this trip. For skis we
recommend a minimum of 100mm underfoot. As all terrain is lift accessed or assisted, there will be no
need for backcountry touring equipment (unless you're a private group that wants to go touring). Avalanche
safety equipment will be required.
