Otaru Bespoke Powder

This multi-day guided Otaru ski and snowboard trip is built for private groups of 1–5 people looking to explore Hokkaido’s deep snow with maximum flexibility and professional support. The pricing listed is for the minimum of 4 nights and 3 days as a a bit of an Otaru sampler, and you can request to make the trip longer. The price is fixed for any group size from 1 person up to 5, and particularly if you have a group of 5, it's a very affordable package. Unlike other tours that include meals and expensive hotel accommodation, on the Otaru Bespoke Powder trip you stay in a private house with your group, and you can cook your own breakfast and dinner to save some yen if you wish.

The Otaru Bespoke Powder trip is based in the town/small city of Otaru and the region is very snowy. Whilst the Japanese are not big into measuring snow volumes because there’s so much of it, Kiroro and Sapporo Kokusai near Otaru are thought to score an average of 18 metres (709 inches) per season, making them the equal 2nd most snowy ski resorts in Japan. Nearby Teine Ski Resort also gets plenty of snow, whilst lower elevation Asari and Tenguyama offer good options to work around the weather. The region around Otaru also provides plenty of options for lift-assisted backcountry as well as pure backcountry touring.

Otaru Powder Guides can tailor each day to your group’s goals, ability, and the weather. Terrain can include resort laps, sidecountry adventures, or full backcountry touring. Otaru Powder Guides focus on safety, smart decision-making, and finding the best snow possible — every day.

You’ll be guided by a qualified, certified, and fully insured local guide with years of experience and deep knowledge of the terrain. This isn’t a guide that just blows in for a few weeks of the season, but an experienced year-round resident. Your guide is bilingual and can assist with support and logistics.
