Each day your hosts will shuttle you in a private vehicle to the ski area where your instruction will take place.

On day 1, you will freeski at Myoko Kogen and your hosts will show you around the mountain.

Course Overview

Our Level 1 Ski Instructor Program offers comprehensive training and examination conducted by the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance (NZSIA). This course provides in-depth training in skiing techniques and teaching methodologies. It emphasizes the ability to perform demonstrations and progressions suitable for beginner students, ensuring you're well-equipped to introduce new skiers to the sport. Our experienced instructors will guide you through a structured curriculum, enabling you to develop a solid foundation in both skiing and teaching.

Minimum Ability

The program is open to diverse group of individuals from various backgrounds and ages. This program is ideal for those who can execute parallel turns on green runs, feel comfortable on blue runs under any conditions, and are ready for groomed black runs. It is perfectly suited for gap-year students and aspiring instructors planning to secure employment in the upcoming season in Australia and New Zealand.

Prerequisite

Before embarking on the on-snow training, it's mandatory to complete the Level 1 eLearning course. This online course covers theory, movement analysis, and lesson planning. You can access the eLearning courses on the NZSIA website (www.nzsia.org/member/). You will need to complete this at least 48 hours before your practical course begins.

Equipment Recommendations:

For qualification courses and exams, it is recommend using Front-Side skis with a radius of 14-19m and an underfoot width of 67-84mm. Correct boot alignment is essential, so they strongly suggest having your boots and alignment checked by a professional boot fitter before attending the course.
