Days 1-4 – Santiago to Farellones, Ski Tres Valles
The guides will arrange morning pick-ups at Santiago Int’l airport or your Santiago hotel. After loading up you'll head out of the city limits and switchback your way up to the mountain village of Farellones and the Tres Valles ski complexes of La Parva, El Colorado and Valle Nevado. Surrounded by massive Andean peaks, Tres Valles offers expansive terrain options from in bounds cruisers and open bowls to some of Chile’s premier lift-accessed backcountry, including private shuttles on Santa Teresa.
The first afternoon together is spent on the slopes of La Parva getting the ski / snowboard legs happening and gear in order for the upcoming snow adventure.
You'll spend 3 nights at the cozy Powder Lodge in Farellones. Home cooked meals, a woodfired hot tub, spectacular sunsets and enthusiastic Chilean hospitality are guests highlights here. The following 3 days are spent skiing and snowboarding the terrain in the Tres Valles region. On day 4 after spending the day on the mountain you'll return for an evening in Santiago.
Day 5 Travel to Las Trancas
After a relaxed morning at the Santiago hotel the group will begin the journey traveling south to the powder capital of Chile, Nevados de Chillan. En route you'll stop at the Miguel Torres winery for a 4 course lunch and wine pairing before continuing to the ski pueblo of Las Trancas.
You'll spend 4 nights in this magical forested valley, where huge storms are known to settle in!
Days 6-8 - Ski/Ride Nevados de Chillan
For 3 full days we explore a favorite ski resorts, Nevados de Chillan, which offers thousands of vertical feet to descend; a lunar-like landscape including 3 volcanic peaks (one which regularly makes its presence known); and continues to be a relatively ‘undiscovered’ snow paradise. Nevados features everything from long groomed slopes and the gentle Tres Marias lava tubes to adventurous steeps in Pirigallo Valley and steaming summits of the Chillan volcanoes.
The evenings are spent in Las Trancas celebrating the day in true Chilean style.
Day 9 -Travel to Los Andes
After stopping at the bustling meat, produce and artisan market in Chillan and a typical Chilean lunch you will travel to Los Andes, the basecamp for the next 2 nights.
Day 10 – Cat Skiing at Arpa
Considered one of the wildest ski destinations on the planet, Valle El Arpa, is an experience not to be missed by snow adventurers. With over 5000 acres of terrain, 3000 vertical feet to descend, spectacular views of Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Americas while skiing with an intimate group make Arpa one of the most memorable visits on your South American tour. A true outback Andes adventure.
The final evening together will be celebrated with an authentic Chilean asado feast.
