I had the best time with the Apex Team. They truly know the region, culture, people and the best lines for all conditions. We managed to do the 4 volcanoes despite of challenging conditions, got insane views and sick lines down. They took really good care of me, felt always safe on the mountain and everything was extremly well organised. Hope to have the chance to come back soon and explore more of this versatile terrain with them!

In 2024 we went out with Apex guides to summit and ski the Sierra Nevada volcano. 1 of the 4 in this package. I have also been to the top of Lonquimay Volcano with these guides but I’m gonna talk about my Sierra Nevada experience because it was something special. We planned for an early morning start and luckily we had like 15-20cm of fresh snow overnight. We discussed safety with the new snow and took the most beautiful climb through ancient araucaria trees caked in snow up the ridge of the volcano. I will say fitness is a must. But the guide set a good pace with well spaced breaks.
The view from the summit provides a view of all the volcanoes and many options to ski down. The way we went down was the west side. The snow was amazing and the run was a long sustained pitch!
We skied all the way to the caynon blanco hot springs where we had hot tubs, snacks, drinks, and transportation waiting for us! The Apex guides were very knowledgeable of the zone and terrain which made me feel confident with the objective. It was a maze through the trees to find the ridge up and on the exit ya had to be in the right valley to find the hot springs. Just the Sierra Nevada volcano to hot springs was a 5 star experience for me that I would recommend to anyone capable. And with powderhounds and apex offering the grand slam 4 volcanos I can’t imagine it being anything but a special adventure!
