Wanaka, yet it feels a million miles away considering its serene location.
Cardrona Alpine Resort is 45km to the southwest and Snowfarm (cross country skiing) is 50km to the southwest.
Treble Cone Ski Resort is 39km west of the Lake Hawea Hotel.
There are walking tracks near Lake Hawea and a 12km walk/cycle track that heads between Hawea and Albert
Town.

The king or twin hotel rooms are refurbished and offer uninterrupted views of Lake Hawea and surrounding mountains. The rooms have a balcony, ensuite bathroom and also include free wifi, freeview TV, electric blankets, hair dryers, tea and coffee, iron and ironing board. Bed blankets are spun with hand woven Wanaka farmed merino wool.
The hotel has 8 family suites that can cater for up to 5 guests. The suites can be made up as a luxurious super king or twin configuration downstairs, with a single and double bed option upstairs.
Lake Hawea Hotel has 4 studio suites that sleep up to 4-5 guests and can be made up as a luxurious super king or twin configuration. A roll away bed can also be added if need be. Two of the studio suites are access rooms, with shower only.

For more casual drinking and dining there’s the Stag’s Head Pub which serves an extensive selection of beverages and classic pub grub. The pub has a pool table, darts boards, and TV screens playing major sports games. The pub is a locals' hangout.
