Lodge AIBIYA
Lodge Aibiya is located in Yudanaka township and the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes or visiting the
snow monkeys. The hosts are trilingual and provide a high level of Japanese service backed up with western insights gained by working overseas. The lodge is a renovated Japanese ryokan, so you can experience the lovely Japanese décor without a large price tag. Choose from dorm or private rooms; most rooms utilise communal bathrooms.
Where is Lodge Aibiya?
The lodge is located in the village of
Yudanaka (otherwise known as snow monkey town) in Yamanouchi town, only 280m (3 minute walk) from the Yudanaka train station, which is where buses to
Shiga Kogen and
Ryuoo Ski Park depart from. To get to Yudanaka you can catch the train from Nagano (45 mins).
Lodge Aibiya is only 280m from the Lawson convenience store and there is also a supermarket nearby. There are multiple dining options within a 5 minute walk of the lodge including HAKKO (bar with food), sushi, ramen and café/bar.
Rooms
All rooms have retained the traditional ryokan style Japanese décor with tatami flooring and shoji screens, yet have the comfort of western style beds up off the floor.
Mix 4 Share Room: book a single bed in a 4-share dorm room with no bunks! Bath towels are not provided for this room.
Female 4 Share Room: book a single bed in a females only 4-share dorm room with no bunks. Bath towels are not provided for this room.
Private Rooms – Twin/Queen/Triple (up to 2-3 guests): this room has 2 single beds which can be placed together to form a queen bed, and a fold out bed can be added for a 3rd guest.
These rooms utilise communal bathrooms that include separate and individual male and female shower rooms (ie you don’t have to bathe in front of other people).
Deluxe Ensuite Room (up to 2-4 guests): this room has 2 single beds which can be placed together to form a queen bed. 2 fold out beds can be added. This room has a tatami sitting area and ensuite bathroom.
