The OMO5 Hotel is located in the lovely port city of Otaru in Hokkaido. Otaru is a small city renowned for its canal and warehouse district and historic buildings, the fishing and seafood, and glassworks artisan studios. It’s close to various ski areas, so you can combine a Japanese experience in Otaru with powder chasing.

Where is OMO5 Otaru?
OMO5 Otaru Hotel is very centrally located in
Otaru, about 750 metres from the train station.
The hotel sits on the same street as the Sakaimachi Street and it is just a few minutes walk to the collection of glass shops, souvenir shops, and eateries. The hotel is only 260m walk to the Otaru canal.
Shuttles to Nearby Ski Areas
Whilst having a car will provide the most flexibility to chase the powder at the nearby ski areas of Otaru, the hotel is well located to get to a few of the ski areas without a car.
Shuttles to Kiroro have a stop outside the hotel. The bus to Kiroro attracts a small fee and needs to be reserved at least the day prior.
There are also shuttles to Snow Cruise Onze that have a bus stop out the front of the hotel.
A bus stop to get to Otaru Tenguyama Ski Resort is one minute walk away from the hotel.
A bus stop to get to Asarigawa Onsen is about 9 minutes walk from the hotel.

Dining
The dining area of OMO5 Hotel is located in the historic part of the building where a blend of old and modern décor makes it aesthetically striking, especially with the soaring ceilings.
A buffet breakfast is available. In addition to lots of Japanese fare and pastries, the breakfast includes Spanish inspiration and may include fare such as Spanish omelette and churros. Different juices and great coffee round off a great breakfast.
Dinner can be included with a reservation. It also has Spanish influences and includes tapas, paella, other mains, delectable desserts and wine, champagne and non-alcoholic sangria.
Later on in the evening, the dining area morphs into a lounge where oil lamps are lit, and an antique music box plays a couple of times an hour. Drinks are available.
