By staying in motorhomes, the tour group will have the flexibility to assess the weather and terrain and choose our riding locations accordingly. You will spend most of your time in the mountains, minimizing the need for extensive driving, and having the freedom to relocate as desired.

The Skiing

One of the highlights of Sunnmøre Alps is the Trollstigen road, which winds its way through the mountains and provides access to some incredible ski touring routes. The views from the top are simply breathtaking, with cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and snowy peaks as far as the eye can see. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced skier, Sunnmøre Alps has something for everyone.
Sunnmøre Alps offers a plethora of ski touring routes that cater to all skill levels. Here are some of the best routes the tour may explore:
- Mt. Slogen: This iconic peak offers a challenging but rewarding ski touring experience. The route takes you through steep slopes and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
- Hjørundfjorden: Ski touring along Hjørundfjorden allows you to experience the beauty of the fjords while enjoying the untouched powder. The terrain offers a mix of open slopes and tree runs.
- Stranda: Stranda is a popular ski resort with excellent off-piste skiing opportunities. The ski touring routes here vary in difficulty, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers.
- Romsdalseggen: This ridge offers breathtaking views of the Romsdalen valley and is a favourite among ski tourers. The route involves some steep sections and requires good navigation skills.
- Trollstigen: The Trollstigen road provides access to numerous ski touring routes. From gentle slopes to challenging couloirs, there is something for everyone along this scenic route.
These are just a few examples of the many ski touring routes waiting to be explored in Sunnmøre Alps. As with any backcountry ski tour, the daily skiable vertical and distances travelled will be dictated by the weather, snow conditions, the guide and the fitness, ability & wishes of the group
Lodging & Meals
The accommodations on this tour will be in shared motorhomes that come fully equipped with kitchens. This unique experience allows you to combine the freedom of ski touring with the convenience of having your accommodation on wheels. Norway is known for its stunning landscapes, and motorhome skiing allows you to explore different ski-touring locations at your own pace. Renting a motorhome gives you the flexibility to chase the best snow conditions and wake up to breathtaking views every day. You can park your motorhome near the ski touring routes and have the mountains as your backyard. It's an adventure like no other, where you can truly immerse yourself in the beauty of Sunnmøre Alps. Whilst on this tour you share a motorhome with other guests, you are welcome to rent your own private motorhome or camper-van if preferred (for an extra tariff).
Most of the time the tour group will stay and sleep in remote areas so you will have to prepare food with the other guests in the motorhomes. Regular stops will be made at shops to refill supplies. Occasionally there will be restaurants, bars or cafeterias along the way to enjoy a good meal.
Guides & Coaches
The tour includes the services of one to four of the tour operators most experienced instructors guides & coaches. The final number of guides will be dependent on the number of guests on each tour!
Ski Ability, Fitness & Gear
All guests need to be confident 'black slope' skiers/snowboarders. Although no previous touring/freeride experience is needed, it is highly recommended.
The tour is suitable for adults 18 years and older.
Physical intensity on the tour is high. You need to be able to ski/ride for an entire day, day after day, including uphill skinning/bootpacking. Vertical ascent per day ranges from 1,000m to 1,500m.
All ski-touring & splitboarding gear (including avalanche safety equipment) are not included in the tour tariff. However, there will be the ability to demo the latest DOWN skis for anyone that wishes.
Getting There & Away
The tour starts from Oslo Airport (OSL) Gardermoen. Oslo can be reached by flights from all major airports within Europe, the UK and Middle East. From the airport, your hosts will arrange to get you to the motorhomes that will be your transport, accommodation & kitchen for the whole tour. Each guest will likely be required to drive for at least part of the tour.

The trip is open to individuals, couples, or groups of friends on two fixed date tours in late March. The tours require at least 4 guests in order to run. If there are not enough people, you can use the price of your booking towards another trip, or you can be fully refunded for your purchase.
