Highlights

Each day you will experience some unforgettable skiing amongst spectacular mountains, plus get a taste of the wonderful local cultural.
• Meet at a Ski Arlberg location convenient to your group.
• Stress-free, full day skiing using the lifts, skinning, short boot packs & local buses to ski the best snow & terrain for your group's ability, wants & needs.
• Explore some of the Arlberg's best kept secret freeride terrain.
• Possibility to take skis to the top of Valluga and ski the famous routes off its back.
• Ski untracked powder whenever possible.
• Enjoy incredible mountain views.
• Using the guides local knowledge, avoid the crowds on busy days and be shown the region's best lunch & après ski venues!
• Guides speak fluent English and have the highest mountain guiding & instructor qualifications.
• The tour will provide life-long powder memories.

Program

The day's program is straightforward. Once a mutually agreed meeting point anywhere in Ski Arlberg is confirmed, you will be guided to the best off-piste ski terrain the Arlberg has to offer. The guide will have clarified the groups wishes & skills to provide the most appropriate options. Slope selection will be according to your ability, wants and needs. If you wish to explore a specific sector of the massive Ski Arlberg region, it can be easily catered for. Just let the guide know if you want the tour to be: 1. Skiing off-piste direct from the ski lifts only; 2. Doing some boot packing and climbing to get to better locations; 3. Using skins & touring gear to explore a wider variety of terrain possibilities. Of course, given the nature of skiing in the Arlberg, combining all three types of tour is usually the best way to go.

Lunch will be had out in the mountains. Option is for a mountain picnic in the sidecountry, which requires preparation from the guests, or if looking for a restaurant lunch, the guide will have great local suggestions, and we always think it best to listen to the guide! By the end of the day you will be guided back to the starting point, or a mutually agreed finishing point from where you can easily get back your lodgings. The guide may have a few après ski suggestions too, a fundamental part of the Ski Arlberg experience. No better way to finish an Arlberg freeride day with singing, dancing & beer. Prost!

Tour starting point can be in any of the region's resort villages including St Anton, Lech, St Christoph, Stuben, Zurs, Zug, or Oberlech. To save time, the best meeting location might be at the top of a lift (i.e. Galzig).

Guide

Your guide for the day is a fully certified Austrian Mountain Guide & highly qualified ski instructor with an intimate knowledge of the Arlberg ski region.

Group Size

The tour is for private groups only of up to 6 guests. Day tours are best with a minimum of 3 guests but singles or couples/groups of two can be accommodated for a tour but will be charged at a higher per person rate.

Ski Ability

The tour is perfect for strong intermediate, advanced and expert skiers & snowboarders. Whilst it is a private tour and the group can explore the terrain at its own pace, Freeriding the Arlberg is not for novices/beginners, and is best if all the group's participants have a similar level of experience & capacity skiing variable off-piste snow conditions.

Gear

Avalanche safety equipment, and possibly ski-touring/splitboarding gear is required to participate in the tour, however if you require rentals, the guide can offer assistance, or you can arrange it for yourself via the Powderhounds local partners in the region via the Ski-Arlberg Ski & Snowboard Rentals page.
