Overview Guided Off-Piste Skiing at Baqueira Beret Ski Resort
Baqueira Beret is one of the world's best ski resorts. It's quality of snow together with top quality restaurants and bars offer you great days of skiing. But this is just like other ski resorts. The Baqueira Off Piste Discover Tour will show you why we call it Freeride Paradise. Long descents starting at an altitude of 2,500m down to 1,400m, comprising open easy slopes, forests, valleys, gullies and couloirs are our playground. Some of the best out-of-bounds bowls like Montgarri, Ruda or Bagergue will delight you.
Tour Options (Off-Piste Modes)
Three levels of tour/off-piste modes are offered to make the most of your freeride experience:
1. Downhill Only: taking advantage of the ski lifts to move from an area to another and using skidoo or taxi transfers to return from the furthest areas if the conditions allow.
2. Downhill & Short Walks: carrying skis on your backpacks for short distances from the top of the ski lifts, your playground is enlarged! Eventually using skidoo or taxi transfers to return from the furthest areas.
3. Freerando: the group will skin up short sections from the top of the lifts to access the best bowls & valleys, where no one else can go. Skidoo or taxi transfers utilised to return from the furthest areas.
The guide will take care of the logistics, including any skidoo or taxi transfers, focusing on riding the best snow available, and you just enjoy the skiing!
Guiding
Guides are fully certified local Mountain Guides with an expert knowledge of the ski resort & surrounding off-piste & backcountry terrain. The day is adaptable to the ability of the group & the snow & weather conditions. The guide will provide full information before the activity, including weather forecast and snow stability. The guide's focus is on providing an enjoyable experience, matching the slopes with the group skills and stamina. Depending on the off-piste mode chosen (either downhill, short walks or freerando) the guide set up all the logistics to make the most of your day.
The Guide will teach avalanche safety, snow stability, off piste ski skills and freeride strategy during the day.
