Great Place.....If Ony We Could See!

18/07/2019
We skied Monte Cavallo Rosskopf on a snowy white-out day in late March. It was fun, with the snow fresh up top & zero crowds to go with the zero visibility. Zero visibility meant zero photos, so we will return on a sunny day! We think the skiing is pretty good, but it was one of those days where it was probably too tough to really tell.

Regardless of the weather, even with limited natural snow down at the base, the snow-makers had done their job well. There was enough snow all the way to the valley on the both the ski trail & sled run. The Biwak bar & pizzeria at the resort base provided perfectly priced Aperol spritzers (i.e. dirt cheap) & delicious wood fired pizza before the short walk back into Vipiteno.

We stayed at the magnificent Hotel-Restaurant Lilie. This ancient building is beautiful. Rooms are spacious. The bakery cafe is excellent, as is the restaurant at night. Combined with a range of bars throughout the old town, an evening in Vipiteno after skiing is one of life's little pleasures. So much so that this was the second year in a row that we stayed in Vipiteno.
