Fondue Tour

Tenjindaira Backcountry Tours
Canadian Wilderness Adventures (aka Canadian Snowmobile Adventures) offer a very unique Whistler dining experience; a great activity if you want a special night out at Whistler Blackcomb. You can live the high life with the Whistler fondue dinner – literally considering that the dinner is held in the Crystal Hut lodge up on Blackcomb Mountain at 6,000 feet.

The Whistler fondue tour combines a bit of an adventure with a lovely dinner. Getting to and from the mountain lodge is half the fun and you’ve got the option of travelling in a snowcat or going on a snowmobile.

Snowmobiling

You can drive your own powerful snowmobile up to the Crystal Hut or share a snowmobile with a friend. The guided snowmobile tour travels along forest trails and up Blackcomb Mountain. Along the way there is an open area where you can “open ‘er up”. After dinner, the trip down is particularly surreal as the twinkling lights of Whistler Village gradually become closer.

This snowmobile tour is tagged as being appropriate for all abilities, but it’s probably best suited to adventurous beginners and up.

Snowcat

Taking the snowcat is the less adventurous yet deluxe way to get up to the Crystal Hut. The snowcat cabin is heated, comfortable and very cosy, and depending on the other guests, it can have a bit of a party atmosphere! And if you want to partake of a few wines over dinner, this is the way to travel!

Crystal Hut

The Crystal Hut is a rustic Canadian log cabin up high on Blackcomb Mountain. Outside on the deck there are very impressive views down across Whistler Village, whilst inside there is a delightful candlelit ambience. Guests sit together on large tables, so it’s a rather social atmosphere and there’s a musician playing well known tunes. It’s largely background music, but you’re welcome to sing along if you like!

Dinner

Dinner consists of a yummy cheese fondue and a broth fondue with bread, meats, and vegetables for dipping. Dinner is accompanied by BC fine wine. One glass is included, and guests on the snowcat can purchase additional glasses of wine. The fondue is followed by fresh baked fruit pie served hot from the wood fired oven.
